Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, admissions, customer service, or related setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Admissions Director/Coordinator with the daily admissions process.
• Receive and help process referrals from hospitals, physicians, and other referral sources.
• Gather required clinical, demographic, financial, insurance, and admission documentation.
• Assist with verifying that required documentation is complete prior to admission.
• Communicate professionally with prospective residents, families, referral sources, and facility staff.
• Coordinate admission dates and arrival information with Nursing, Business Office, Social Services, Therapy, Dietary, and other departments.
• Prepare admission packets and assist residents and/or responsible parties with completing required paperwork.
• Maintain accurate admission records and update applicable electronic systems and tracking logs.
• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes as assigned.
• Follow up with hospitals and referral sources regarding missing documentation.
• Provide tours of the facility to prospective residents and families as requested.
