Job summary

Covista seeks an Admissions professional to determine student admissibility and evaluate transcripts in alignment with university standards. You will review admissions requirements, policies, and transfer processes, and provide decisions to appropriate offices.

Responsibilities include handling special cases, preparing official and unofficial transfer assessments, and maintaining accurate records in the student information system while collaborating with faculty and student services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years Higher Ed experience in Admissions, Academic Advising, or Registrar.
• Ability to evaluate student transcripts and records.
• Skill in the use of computerized systems and databases.
• Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
• Organizing and coordinating skills.
• Ability to examine and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulate policy, and develop and implement new strategies.
• Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all applications and administers admissions decisions as defined by the Schools.
• Special admissions cases and policy exceptions reviewed by Manager of Admissions; final by Faculty Chair/Dean in ambiguous cases.
• Awards transfer of credit based on school standards; provides decisions to appropriate offices.
• Prepares official determinations regarding admissions and transfer of credit for review.
• Provides unofficial assessment of transfer of credit for prospective students.
• Responds to inquiries from faculty and internal student service groups.
• Supervises transcription of transfer awards into the student information system after evaluations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
