Administrator, Clinical Education and Services (CEAS)

Southern Regional Area Heath Education Center (SR-AHEC) is one of nine Area Heath Education Centers (AHEC) in North Carolina. We are proudly affiliated with Duke University Medical Center and support our medical residency and continuing education programs by: training family physicians and other health care professional, providing primary health care for families in Cumberland County and surrounding areas through our Duke/Family Medicine Residency Program; coordinating rotations for 3rd and 4th year medical students through the Office of Regional Primary Care Education (ORPCE); delivering continuing professional development to healthcare professionals; and working collaboratively with education and health oriented organizations in our region to improve healthcare access.

We have an opportunity available for an experienced Clinic Administrator to manage and oversee administrative duties in our Family Medicine Center and Family Medicine Residency Program. Responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting and coordination of activities to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality healthcare. Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of requirements of AOA, ACGME, ABFM and ABOFP, as well as requirements for complying with governmental, accreditation and other quality/regulatory agencies. This position will report directly to the Vice-President of Clinical Education and Services (CEAS).

Management and Supervision
  • Directly supervises a team of clinic managers (Nurse Manager, Lab Director, Patient Services Manager) and other non-managerial staff
  • Reviews and approves time records for all clinical staff, and oversees coordination of staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
  • Assists with development of goals and objectives for clinical sections
  • Coordinates and participates in hiring and selection of providers and other staff positions
  • Provides guidance and leadership in the preparation of daily clinic schedules; monitors clinic schedule to ensure optimum use of staff and resources to support customer satisfaction.
  • Professionally addresses escalated patient complaints resolving issues to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Oversees the coordination of resident and faculty schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all clinical areas and teaching responsibilities.
Clinic Supervision
  • Monitors EHR reports and takes action to correct system deficiencies
  • Oversees management of Employee Health & Infection Control programs.
  • Assists in management of clinical risk and use of EHR to facilitate medical residency and clinical function.
  • Collaborates with other management team to optimize patient services and health professional student education
Fiscal Management
  • Develops and provides budget forecasting and monitors annual and capital budgets
  • Review and approves purchases and negotiates purchasing prices with medical supply vendors
  • Conduces routine inspections of equipment and facilities and related follow-up
  • Oversees grant management of section programs

Position prefers a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least five (5) years healthcare management experience. Licensure in a clinical discipline strongly preferred. Advanced computer skills in the areas of data management essential. Requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration, patient care and teamwork.
