The County of Yuba is currently hiring for the position of Administrative Technician, with a vacancy in the Probation Department. Under general supervision, this role involves performing a variety of technical, administrative, operational, procedural, and program-related tasks to assist a County department. Responsibilities include researching, collecting, and analyzing data, as well as preparing draft reports. The Administrative Technician will also handle administrative and technical work related to their assigned program area, provide support to management, coordinate program activities, assist with process improvement efforts, and prepare various types of correspondence and reports. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. This position is classified at the journey para-professional level within the administrative and analytical series.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of effectively handling more complex accounting and administrative support functions. Responsibilities will include general office support duties, and a strong customer service orientation is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in using and creating Excel spreadsheets, as well as experience with databases, is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to producing high-quality work accurately. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others, as well as the capacity to remain productive independently, are essential for this role.
Required Qualifications
Minimum: An Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in business, accounting, or a related field; and three years of experience at a level equivalent to the County’s classification of Office Specialist. Candidates with strong experience who lack the degree are encouraged to apply.
Preferred: In addition to the minimum, technical experience in the subject area to which assigned and one year of experience providing direction to others.
Special Requirements: Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting and/or a credit check. May be required to file statements of economic interest with the Yuba County Clerk/Recorder. Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109. The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver’s license within ten (10) days of employment, maintain throughout employment.
HIRING RANGE: $ 4237-$4661/Monthly + Benefits
