General Experience: At least one year of general experience with Microsoft office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, or similar programs; and professional workplace written and oral communication.

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.

No time in grade is required for placement at the GS-04 level.

Qualifications at the GS-05

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience with entering or reviewing time and attendance records, review and editing correspondence, and maintaining spreadsheets.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

No time in grade is required for placement at the GS-05 level.

Qualifications at the GS-06

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience with preparing travel requests and/or reimbursement or similar type payment vouchers and billing invoices; and reviewing and editing correspondence, and maintaining spreadsheets; and ordering office supplies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Business Management, etc.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
