Berkeley County Government is seeking an administrative support professional to assist the Supervisor’s Office. The role involves phone communication, meeting coordination, calendar upkeep, travel arrangements, and handling mail and payments. You will support staff and address public inquiries with courtesy and professionalism.
The position requires a high school diploma and 2 years of related experience, plus data entry and Word/Excel qualifications. A background check may be required.
This position typically provides assistance to the public and the Supervisor’s Office staff, and deals courteously and professionally with coworkers and the public.
This position requires the employee to sit and use hands to handle, feel, finger, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.The work is regularly performed in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands. Thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hours per week. Normal work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Fridaywith the ability to work flexible hours when necessary. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.
