Salary

The salary range is $65,922.62 to $114,456.18 for Schedule A, and $65,922.62 to $108,733.37 for Schedule B. New hires typically start at the minimum of the range. Current employees promoted or advanced receive a 5% salary increase, not exceeding the maximum of the range. Employees hired before August 29, 2015, are Schedule A; those hired on or after are Schedule B.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the General Operations Manager, the Passaic Vicinage seeks a motivated, organized individual with supervisory skills to oversee the Interpreters Unit. Responsibilities include supervising interpreters and administrative staff, serving as the Vicinage Coordinator of Interpreting Services (VCIS), and other duties within the Operations Division.

Remote Work

This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing up to 2 days of remote work with high-speed internet access.

Key Duties
  • Prioritize and assign work to interpreters and staff to meet interpreting needs and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage and maintain the statewide interpreting database, OSMOSIS, and generate reports.
  • Communicate policies and coordinate with judges and staff regarding interpreting requests and cancellations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Language Access Plan and ADA regulations.
  • Train judges and staff, participate in meetings, mentor staff, develop budgets, process invoices, and support emergency plans.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, including at least one year in areas like purchasing, facilities, operations, records, jury management, or investigations.

Substitutions are allowed: additional experience for education, associate's or master's degrees, or a law degree can substitute for the required experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license if driving is necessary.
  • Authorization to work in the US (citizenship not required).
  • Background check and fingerprinting for new hires.
  • Residency in New Jersey required for new hires.
