If so, the Department of Motor Vehicles may have a position for you as a Titles and Registration Specialist. The DMV values teamwork, commitment, and excellent customer service. This position is in Titles & Registrations/NMVTIS Unit, Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities of the Titles & Registration Specialist II
  1. Review NMVTIS error and Warning Summary Reports and follow processes to correct title VIN and Brand errors.
  2. Answer inquiries via phone or email from branch personnel, jurisdictions, and AAMVA staff regarding title and registration processes, histories, and NMVTIS transactions.
  3. Research title histories to identify VIN and brand errors.
  4. Process limited title transactions such as canceling titles and clearing suspense records.
  5. Mail or send corrected titles and registrations to customers. Clear NMVTIS title suspenses, revocations, and suspensions according to procedures.
  6. Assist with processing in T&R.
  7. Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or related clerical experience substituted for diploma.
Agency Requirements
  • Complete a nationwide criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of SCDMV titling procedures, including corrections, revocations, and suspensions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel and the public.
  • Ability to explain policies and procedures clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; Access preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Work under general supervision with some independence.
  • Work in an office environment, primarily at a computer.
  • May require extended hours.
  • Ability to lift 10-15 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus three years of related experience.
