This position is in Titles & Registrations/NMVTIS Unit, Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
Responsibilities of the Titles & Registration Specialist II
Reviews National Motor Vehicle Titling Information System (NMVTIS) error and Warning Summary Reports and follows prescribed processes to correct title VIN and Brand errors.
Answers inquiries by phone or email from branch office personnel, jurisdictions and AAMVA staff regarding title and registration processes, histories and NMVTIS transactions.
Research title histories to determine VIN and brand errors.
Processes limited title transactions such as, but not limited to, cancel titles and clearing suspense records.
Mails/Sends to batch corrected titles and registrations to customers. Clears NMVTIS title suspenses, revocations and suspensions according to documented processes.
Assists with processing in T& R.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications- A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Agency Requirements- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements- Considerable knowledge of SCDMV titling procedures and processes: including title corrections, revocations and suspense.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel and the general public.
- Must have the ability to explain policies and procedures to DMV customers and must effectively deal with internal/external customers in disseminating and obtaining information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Proficiency with Microsoft Access desired but not required.
- Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Employee works under general supervision; however, has moderate amount of independence and discretion.
- Works in general office environment. Requires a significant amount of time spent at a computer terminal.
- May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
Agency Preferred- A high school diploma and three (3) years related job experience.
