The Aging Veterans’ Service (AVS) Division consists of four programs to assist veterans and their families:
Established in 1965, ODVA’S Conservatorship Program assists veterans and eligible dependents in managing their financial affairs and property. Conservatorship helps to ease the burdens often associated with paying bills, collecting funds on debts owed to the veteran, corresponding with creditors, and buying or selling real estate, or other investments. What you will do!
As our Veterans Trust Officer Assistant, you will assist the Veterans Trust Officer to carry out the Director’s obligation as conservator. After budgets are in place, you will pay routine bills within budgeted guidelines. You will also respond to simple requests for funds from and for protected persons. You will work with medical providers, merchants, utility companies, government agencies, and other community resources to ensure that obligations are met, and benefits are received.
