Job summary

Vanguard Truck Centers is seeking a detail-oriented clerk with experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and cashier duties to support our service and parts departments. You will greet customers, process payments, handle cash and credit card receipts, and maintain orderly records.

The role also involves clerical tasks, file maintenance, phone coverage, and occasional rush support while upholding a professional appearance in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years of accounting and/or accounts receivable experience.
• 3+ years of cashier experience.
• Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated to provide great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers in pleasant and professional manner.
• Computes customer bills.
• Receives cash, check and credit card payments from customers.
• Manages and accounts for cash in cash-box and credit card receipts.
• Refers customers who have questions about work performed to appropriate party.
• Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise, and when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to appropriate individual.
• Maintains and files repair orders, parts invoices, rental forms; lists missing documents.
• Assists service and parts department with telephone coverage.
• Assists with clerical duties as requested.
• Types memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents.
• Assists service customers during the morning and evening service rush whenever possible.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.
