The Veterans Health Administration at the Hampton VA Medical Center seeks an Administrative Officer in the Health Informatics Service (Access and Transformation) to manage a broad range of administrative functions.

This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration, Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network, Hampton VA Medical Center, within the Health Informatics Service (Access and Transformation). The position serves as an Administrative Officer responsible for providing or obtaining a variety of management services essential to the direction of the Service. Key functions of the position include providing advice, assistance, and coordination of a full range of administrative functions.

You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of an Administrative Officer, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes development and coordination of long and short-range planning activities; preparing reports related to the program's operations (i.e., personnel management, program analysis, budgeting, etc.); advising on Human Resources activities (personnel administration, staffing, position management and classification, training, awards); and Internal Controls (Correspondence, records/forms/reports management, etc.); performing budget formulation, justification, and execution. You must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D. (related to the position) from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the Administrative Officer position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
You must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience, as described above, which may be used to meet total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the Administrative Officer position and must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
