Job summary

Optum in Eugene, OR is seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant to support providers and patients with a cheerful, patient-centered approach. The role begins onsite for 3–6 months, then transitions to fully remote work as needed.

You will gather medical information, coordinate care, and maintain rapport between patient and provider. Requirements include a high school diploma, MA certification, 1+ year MA experience, CPR/BLS certification (or within 30 days), and residency within commuting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT required, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Healthcare provider CPR/BLS certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Lives within a commutable distance of Eugene, OR for 3-6 months of onsite training.

Responsibilities

• Responds to incoming calls and schedules appointments as directed.
• Obtains patient histories, medications, immunizations, and other data in the EMR.
• Retrieves lab and radiology results and guides patients on medications and treatments per provider.
• Follows the prescription refill workflow and communicates with providers for refills.
• Understands current immunization schedules and performs other duties as assigned.
