Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) seeks an Administrative Specialist to support RurAL CAP’s Elder Mentor and Senior Companion programs across Alaska. The role includes processing volunteer applications, timesheets, surveys, and organizing travel for training.

You will also call potential volunteers, assist with newsletters and publications, manage data systems, and coordinate program materials and events, contributing to statewide outreach and impact.

Qualifications

• B.A. or equivalent with 4 years experience in project coordination, community development, or similar field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including proofreading and editing.
• Experience providing over-the-phone support.
• Strong design and layout skills for newsletters, brochures, and informational items.
• Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized and efficient with ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and tracking of volunteers.
• Input data into the volunteer database.
• Call interested volunteers and send application packets.
• Arrange travel, lodging, meals, and site facilities for training/events.
• Design, produce, and coordinate outreach materials and publications.
• Maintain program websites, social media, and newsletters; identify funding opportunities.
