Pay ranges from $21.09 to $30.33 per hour

The City of Kettering is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Clerk for the Law Department. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the office through clerical and administrative tasks, maintaining confidentiality, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as receptionist, assisting visitors to the office.
Answer phones, take messages, and direct inquiries appropriately.
Compose, type, proofread, and process correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
Manage office supplies, orders, and inventory.
Maintain the legal library and organize case files in compliance with records retention policies.
Schedule and maintain the office calendar.
Operate office equipment (computers, scanners, printers, copy machines, etc.).
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Adobe Acrobat, and other office software.
Knowledge of legal principles, office procedures, and terminology.
Ability to draft correspondence and other documents with accuracy.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and the public.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Strong attention to detail, grammar, and accuracy in clerical work.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
Preferred Experience & Education
Experience in clerical or administrative work involving legal documentation.
High school diploma or equivalent, with business school training in clerical or legal office skills.
Paralegal Training Or Experience Preferred.
Prior experience in a law office, municipal government, or legal environment preferred.
Compensation
Pay Range $43,867/year ($21.09/hour) to $63,086/year ($30.33/hour); contingent upon the candidate’s related skills, knowledge and abilities. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, attractive retirement plan, vacation leave, sick leave, holiday pay and other fringe benefits.
