Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana is seeking an Administrative Care Tech PRN to support the patient care team with clerical and basic bedside tasks. You will greet patients, manage charts, protect privacy, and help maintain a safe, organized unit.

This role emphasizes patient-centered service, accuracy in physician orders, and collaboration with nurses. Prior acute care exposure is preferred; a HS diploma and BCLS/NVIC within specified times are required.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Medical Technology Course or other vocational training preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in waiting areas, directing them to other departments.
• Promotes a positive, customer-oriented demeanor.
• Perform patient-centered secretarial tasks, such as physician order entry and creating, labeling, and organizing patient charts.
• Disassemble and file charts after discharge.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Perform rounding and respond to call lights and patient requests.
• Assist in the setup, removal, and cleaning of equipment.
• Identify malfunctioning equipment and initiate repairs.
• Monitor unit and patient rooms to assess availability of supplies.
