About Us

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

Description of Work

Reporting to the Program Director I, this position is responsible for providing secretarial/clerical support to the Programs Section at a multi custody female correctional facility.

Key Duties Included
  • File management, organizing and storing paper files and digital documents
  • Accurately typing new information into computer databases and updating existing files.
  • Keeping sensitive data safe and following laws regarding personal and institutional privacy.
  • Performing assignments using a computer and Microsoft Office software.
  • Operating various Office machines to include copiers, fax and scanner.
  • Working independently and completing all assignments in a timely manner.
  • Planning work accordingly, understanding directives, and carrying out both oral and written instructions.
  • Having daily contact with offenders, staff and general public and following prison policies and procedures at all times.
Salary Range

Salary Range $31,200.00 - $51,249.00
