  • Answer routine correspondence not requiring supervisor’s attention.
  • Communicate with other departments to solve problems.

We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

The Opportunity

You: You’re an organized and resourceful person who’s looking for a great position where you can really make a difference.

Your mission: We’ll rely on you to provide administrative support in an office environment at Houston Community College.

Your work: You’ll have multiple office functions to execute and tasks to complete during your day. Depending upon the specific role you may work with budgets, payroll, answer phones, type correspondence and communicate with other departments to solve issues.

SUMMARY

Provide principal support in an office by carrying out recurring office procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Use the following software: PeopleSoft, Oracle, Word, Excel.

Operate office equipment, such as computer, copier, fax, typewriter, and calculator.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years secretarial experience required; three (3) years preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications

Good written and oral communication skills

Good organizational skills
