POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, state funded, AFSCME, unit-classified position with benefits. AFSCME Unit I, Grade 15, Step 1
SALARY: $55,966.04 annually
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Advising and Success department is comprised of Academic Advising, New Student Orientation, and Testing Services. The department seeks to provide a relentless welcome to their students; prioritizing relationship building, motivational support, and accurate, timely advising.
The Administrative Assistant I is a key member of the Advising and Success team, directly serving students and their families in their successful educational pursuits at Bristol Community College. They play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the department, including responding to inquiries from students and families and serving as a liaison across college departments. Additionally, they collect, analyze, and report on data to inform decision making within the department. This role has an opportunity to make a difference in students' lives through displaying compassion, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring robust departmental support.

Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, work simplification, grants management, contract administration or program management, (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. An Associate's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience. *
II. An Associate's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience. *
*Education toward such a degree will be prorated based on the proportion of the requirements completed.
