Responsibilities

  • Coordinates recruitment and onboarding activities for the location.
  • Processes background checks and related appeals for the location; processes I-9 forms and E-Verify.
  • Assigns required employee training and coordinates paperwork for New Hires, Onboarding, and changes.
  • Tracks attendance balances and leave requests; audits data in the timekeeping system.
  • Assists employees with benefits including PTO and leaves; prepares reports and spreadsheets.
  • Responds to inquiries and helps ensure office operations run smoothly in the supervisor's absence.

Job description

Schedule/Hours: Monday – Friday, typically 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (32 Hours/Week).This position is responsible for:Relieves Corps Officer of administrative detail and administration operations, functions, and duties; performs advanced, complex, and often confidential administrative work with a broad scope of responsibilities; processes HR information and maintains the filing system of human resources documents.Key Responsibilities:Coordinates recruitment and onboarding activities for the command. Processes background checks and related appeals for the location. Processes I-9 forms and E-Verify. Assigns required employee training.Coordinates paperwork and processing related to New Hires, Onboarding, Employee Changes, Terminations.Tracks attendance balances and leave requests.Audits and performs data entry and edits in the time keeping system.Assists employees with benefits including new hire and open enrollment, paid time off and leaves of absence.Prepares advanced and technical reports and spreadsheets from start to finish; prepares or compiles statistical reports.Responds to inquiries regarding departmental operations and ensures the office runs smoothly while the supervisor is absent.Assists with Christmas and seasonal projects as needed.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to clients requiring assistance.Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines.Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision.Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.Duties are usually performed seated.
