Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators in Northern Kentucky is seeking an administrative professional to provide robust support to the Principal and Superintendent. You will manage calendars, schedule appointments, prepare correspondence and reports, and serve as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

This role requires attention to confidentiality, strong written and verbal communication, and proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of administrative or office experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office technology.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: experience supporting executive-level administrators.
  • Knowledge of school district operations and Board of Education procedures.
  • Experience with student information systems (e.g., School Insight).

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Principal and Superintendent, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing correspondence and reports
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and directing communications appropriately
  • Maintains accurate student records, attendance data, and confidential personnel and district files in compliance with applicable laws and policies
  • Assists with preparation and distribution of Board of Education meeting materials, agendas, and minutes, as assigned
  • Coordinates meetings, events, and activities at both the school and district levels
  • Composes, formats, and distributes written communications, including letters, memos, and public notices
  • Manages office operations, including ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail and manages office correspondence systems
  • Supports enrollment, registration, and student information system data entry as needed
  • Assists with special projects and performs additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent

Salary/Benefits

Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education. Evaluation conducted in accordance with district policy.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer; occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to [20] pounds.

Office setting within a school and/or district administrative office. Frequent interaction with students, staff, parents, and community members. Occasional evening hours required for board meetings and school events.
