Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate, real estate law or a closely related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys, paralegals and assistants with real estate transactions.
  • Research new client matters for supervising attorney or paralegal.
  • Calculate critical dates for acquisitions, dispositions, leases and lending.
  • Proofread legal and banking documents.
  • Review contracts, leases, and title documents.
  • Create and maintain checklists for real estate transactions.
  • Prepare initial drafts of closing documents under supervision.
  • Maintain up-to-date time reports for client billing.
  • Submit documents for electronic recording and track confirmations.
  • Assist in formation of corporate entities and related documents.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Job description

Boutique Fort Worth commercial real estate law firm seeks a proactive administrative assistant to support its transactional practice. The ideal candidate has experience in real estate, corporate law, commercial lending, or a similar field. Because the role includes both billable client work and internal administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be adaptable, service-oriented, and willing to assist wherever needed.

We are looking for an applicant who is personable, detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn. The position offers opportunities to assume additional responsibilities and grow with the firm based on performance, initiative, and the firm’s needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants for acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties, financing transactions and land development.
  • Conduct initial research for new client matters and provide the results to the supervising paralegal or attorney.
  • Calculate critical dates for acquisitions, dispositions, lease agreements, and lending transactions and maintain calendar of same.
  • Proofread legal and banking documents.
  • Review purchase and sale contracts, leases, and land title documents.
  • Create and maintain document/task checklists for real estate transactions.
  • Prepare initial drafts of closing documents under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal.
  • Maintain up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.
  • Submit documents for electronic recording in the applicable public records and track each submission through confirmation.
  • Assist in the formation of corporate entities and preparation of related documents.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Prior experience in corporate law, real estate law, commercial lending, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new software programs.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and move quickly from one assignment to another and take responsibility for projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy to maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, and outside contacts.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented with active listening skills.
  • Sound judgment, resourcefulness, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Consistent follow-through and flexibility in responding to changing priorities and urgent deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
Schedule:
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, eight hours per day.
Compensation:
  • $40,000 annually.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, 401(k), Paid Vacation.
