You will partner with the Office Manager to maintain reports, coordinate meetings, handle vendor relations, and assist HR activities and project support as needed for the growing firm.

Compass works as a consultant for transportation projects primarily with public clients and local governments throughout Ohio and Kentucky. The selected candidate will support all operational functions of the business. Primary responsibilities include operational administration, recruitment, and onboarding support.
1-3 years in an administrative role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively
Ability to identify problems and implement solutions independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365, Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Driven, articulate, and confident working independently and as part of a team
Self-starter who can advance initiatives with limited guidance
Motivated by supporting others and helping the team succeed
Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
Process-oriented and adaptable
Willingness to learn new skills
Executive Administration:
Maintain a relationship as the key support person to Canton’s Office Manager
Regularly update reports, such as documenting new business data
Coordinates staff meetings, agenda communication, and action-item tracking
Office Management:
Manage vendors/supplier relationships, including repairs, utilities, and maintenance needs, and be the point person for communication
Troubleshoot building/office environment issues
Order supplies, manage inventory, and find cost savings
HR/Culture:
Support recruiting initiatives, including posting new roles, tracking applicants, and scheduling interviews
Support new-hire onboarding and scheduling
Support HR department with Compass’s events, including holiday parties and work anniversaries planning and execution
Project Management (possible):
Execute internal special projects and strategic initiatives
Partner with Project Manager and project team to establish project budgets, updating budgets, and making project accounting recommendations as needed when contract modifications or budget changes arise
Generate project financial reports and inform team of project financial status
Interpret objectives, set milestones, prioritize task, timeline, and resource allocation, reports statuses internally
Clearly communicate expectations, documenting all pertinent details, decisions and responsibilities
Investigate issues, gather details, summarize information, and escalate when necessary
