Job summary

Comprehensive-Community-Action in Cranston, RI, is seeking a part-time Food Pantry Associate to support daily operations, handle intake, data entry, and inventory, and assist with client services.

Responsibilities include coordinating donated goods pickups, answering calls, and maintaining forms and records; bilingual Spanish is preferred, and CCAP provides food safety training.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED. AA preferred but not required.
  • Human Services experience required.
  • Food Safety Certification (CCAP will provide)
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer experience including all Microsoft platforms
  • Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations
  • Complete all required background checks
  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred

  • Frequent pick up of donated goods.
  • Performs administrative, data entry, and record keeping duties.
  • Answer multi-line phone system – Taking messages / sending voicemail.
  • Stock and inventory food
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for retail pick-ups, maintaining food temp. during transport. Assist Program Coordinator with daily operations of the food pantry. Customer assistance, complete intake assessments, data entry, schedule appointments, and stock and inventory food. Assures the steady flow of incoming calls and returns voicemails in a timely fashion, respond to client inquiries and keeps up to date with data entry. Maintains an adequate supply of all needed forms and paperwork for staff. Files and schedules appointments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma / GED. AA preferred but not required.
  • Human Services experience required.

WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

This is a Part time position, 28.5 hours per week.
