Job summary

The Admin. Nursing Supervisor position at Care New England Health System has authority, responsibility and accountability for the hospital during 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays. This role acts as a clinical resource for nursing staff, emphasizing quality care for Women & Infants.

Clinical leadership includes coordinating nursing practice, managing staff, budgeting, and serving as a multidisciplinary team leader with a focus on continuous improvement and safety.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required or proof toward Bachelor's.
  • Current Rhode Island RN licensure.
  • CPR certification required.
  • NRP/ACLS certified within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
  • Communicates nursing expectations and coordinates implementation with staff, physicians, patients.
  • Resolves administrative and patient care management problems.
  • Promotes and supports continuing education for staff.
  • Monitors expenditures and manages resources effectively.
  • Manages human resources and staffing needs.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings.
  • Assists with scheduling of nursing staff and other staff members.

Job Summary

The Admin. Nursing Supervisor has authority, responsibility and accountability for the administration of the entire hospital during 2nd and 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays. Using a great deal of initiative and creativity, the Admin. Nursing Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the hospital while serving as a clinical resource for the nursing staff. The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to quality health care for Women & Infants.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
  • Communicates expectations for nursing practice and coordinates their implementation with staff, physicians, patients and other professional staff.
  • Resolves administrative and patient care management problems.
  • Promotes and supports continuing education for staff.
  • Monitors expenditures.
  • Manages human resources effectively.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings
  • Assists with scheduling of nursing staff and other staff members.
Requirements

Masters Degree preferred, Bachelors degree required or proof of academic achievement toward Bachelors degree. Current licensure with the State of Rhode Island as an RN. Must have and maintains CPR certification. NRP ACLS certified within one year of hire date.
