- Serves as an administrative coordinator for the Division of Training under limited supervision, performs various duties to include telephone communication and reception duties.
- Performs a multitude of administrative tasks for new hire, agency orientation and basic classes which may include over 200 students at one time.
- Creates and maintains student training files (hard as well as virtual) for all SCDC new hires state-wide.
- Monitors student progress to ensure all tests are successfully completed.
- Compile, tabulate and analyze student academic performance test data.
- Track and perform follow-up on students until certification is obtained.
- This position requires extensive use of Microsoft Word, Excel, mainframe, testing software, and SCEIS.
- Responsible for ensuring all required documentation has been obtained prior to students entering/completing basic training.
- Responsible for contacting institution/divisions for those who have not submitted the required documentation.
- Scans all student documentation into virtual files.
- Assists with the compilation of training rosters.
- Orchestrates most administrative requirements for c/o basic training graduation, compiles programs, ensures officer badges are ordered, compiles visitors list, prints certificates, progress reports, and oaths for graduate packages.
- Verifies NCIC checks prior to basic graduation.
- Uses two-way radio communication and P.A. system.
- Acts as primary scribe during activation of emergencies (ICSC).
- Resume recommended but not required.
Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and five (5) years of progressively responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience, including three (3) years of experience with the use of a personal computer, and Microsoft office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms and Outlook).
