Job Summary
Provides administrative support to physicians in their clinical, academic, research, and leadership roles.
Essential Responsibilities
- Answers and screens telephone calls, takes accurate messages or directs calls to the appropriate person, greets and directs patients, families, visitors, and staff, and responds to requests in a timely manner.
- Updates patient demographic and insurance information, obtains specialist referrals, schedules patient appointments using scheduling tools, and coordinates ancillary appointments and procedures with other hospital staff.
- Obtains patient information and materials from referral sources, prepares records for clinical activities, maintains patient records, and acts as a liaison with other departments and external customers.
- Maintains physician administrative and clinical calendars, types correspondence, manuscripts, and documents, transcribes letters and patient notes, facilitates notes in CCC system, and prepares/distributes materials for meetings and committees.
- Assists licensed practitioners by queuing prescriptions for renewal and performing initial reviews of medication listings for accuracy in the electronic medical record (Web OMR).
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of related work experience required.
- Experience with computer systems, including web‑based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- All staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

Physical Nature Of The Job
Sedentary work. May occasionally lift or move objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing required.
Pay Range
$21.63 – $29.11 hourly. Base wage range; compensations may vary based on seniority, education, training, certifications, location, responsibilities, and applicable differentials.
