Job Summary

Provides administrative support to physicians in their clinical, academic, research, and leadership roles.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Answers and screens telephone calls, takes accurate messages or directs calls to the appropriate person, greets and directs patients, families, visitors, and staff, and responds to requests in a timely manner.
  • Updates patient demographic and insurance information, obtains specialist referrals, schedules patient appointments using scheduling tools, and coordinates ancillary appointments and procedures with other hospital staff.
  • Obtains patient information and materials from referral sources, prepares records for clinical activities, maintains patient records, and acts as a liaison with other departments and external customers.
  • Maintains physician administrative and clinical calendars, types correspondence, manuscripts, and documents, transcribes letters and patient notes, facilitates notes in CCC system, and prepares/distributes materials for meetings and committees.
  • Assists licensed practitioners by queuing prescriptions for renewal and performing initial reviews of medication listings for accuracy in the electronic medical record (Web OMR).
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of related work experience required.
  • Experience with computer systems, including web‑based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • All staff must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

Physical Nature Of The Job

Pay Range

$21.63 – $29.11 hourly. Base wage range; compensations may vary based on seniority, education, training, certifications, location, responsibilities, and applicable differentials.
