Job summary

ADM Community School District seeks dynamic drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program. Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30-8:15a, 1:30-3:15p

Requires a valid chauffeur's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and completion of required trainings before interacting with students. Reports to Transportation Director and evaluates performance every 3 years.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid chauffeur's license to operate a school vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for loading/unloading.
• Completion of required trainings prior to student interactions.

Responsibilities

• Operate school bus safely and in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Perform pre-trip checks for mechanical issues and report defects.
• Maintain discipline on the bus and report undisciplined students to authorities.
• Transport only authorized students to and from stops as scheduled.
• Report accidents and complete required documentation.
• Communicate with the transportation director about delays or absences.
• Collaborate with the transportation director to address parent concerns when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Safety

• Compliant with all Federal and State laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses


• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects


• Notifies the transportation director in case of mechanical failure or lateness


• Maintains discipline on the bus and reports any undisciplined students to the proper authority.
  
  
  
  • Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
  
  
  
  


• Transports only authorized students


• Discharges students only at authorized stops


• Reports all accidents and completes required reports


• Current on required trainings

Operations and Communication

• Keeps to assigned bus route & schedule


• Keeps assigned bus clean


• Reports to work for assigned schedules


• Communicates to the transportation director if late or absent


• Partners with transportation director when necessary to address parents


• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips


• Performs other duties as assigned

EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated every 3 years by the transportation director
