Job summary

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities is seeking an ADL / Orientation & Mobility Instructor to provide statewide instructional services for visually impaired individuals. The role covers indoor/outdoor navigation, travel training, and ADL skills across several Ohio locations.

The position requires significant in-state travel, use of adaptive equipment, and collaboration with job developers, caregivers, and employers. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Qualifications

Completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, education, social/human science and 6 months of experience or training in the instructional service.
Willingness to pursue required certifications within 12 months of hire for ADL/O&M.
Ability to travel within Ohio and work across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Interviews participants to assess their needs and develops goals for independence.
Conducts performance-based assessments and prescribes adaptive equipment and training levels.
Delivers professional instructional services in ADL and/or O&M for visually impaired individuals.
Monitors safety and progress during home, community, and workplace travels.
Collaborates with internal staff and external providers to meet participant goals.
Maintains clear, timely reports using computer applications.
