Moraine Valley Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Spring 2027 Information and Digital Instruction Librarian. The position supports online and in-person information literacy and digital literacy sessions at the main campus and extension sites, under the Library/Learning Resource Center.

The role focuses on reference services, developing instructional materials, and digital learning objects, with involvement in media production using video and audio tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program.
• Teaching and reference experience required or preferred.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing technology.
• Experience with learning management systems.
• Experience with audio and video production.

Responsabilités

• Teach information literacy and digital literacy sessions online and in-person at the main campus and extension sites.
• Provide reference services to patrons.
• Create instructional materials and digital learning objects.
• Support media production, including video and audio technologies.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Duties

Under the direction of the Department Chair, responsibilities include teaching information literacy and digital literacy sessions online and in-person at the main campus and at the college’s extension sites as well as providing reference services. Duties include creating instructional materials and digital learning objects, supporting media production, including technologies such as video and audio production, and other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Education/Experience

Master’s degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program. Please see below.

Required: Master’s degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching and reference experience
• Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing technology
• Experience with learning management systems

Position Status

Part Time

Hours

Adjunct/PT position

16 to 25 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours are available.

Main location is at main campus/library (Palos Hills).

May need to travel to extension sites at times (Tinley Park, ECBI)

$33.00 per hour
