Qualifications

  • Master's in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Clinical and/or teaching experience in speech-language pathology, or related communication sciences and disorders areas.
  • Experience with assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical communication development across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Speech & Language Track Courses on BYU campus, typically twice weekly, 3 credits.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging instruction integrating theory, research, clinical application, and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrate the ability and confidence to teach content in areas such as: speech and language development, phonetics, speech sound disorders, developmental and acquired language disorders, cognitive communication disorders, neurogenic communication disorders, voice, swallowing disorders, assessment, multicultural isses, AAC, and intervention.
  • Assess student learning through exams, assignments, presentations, and applied learning activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, including timely grading and feedback.
  • Collaborate with department faculty to ensure alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Stay current with developments in the profession and incorporate relevant advances into instruction.
  • Teach in accordance with the BYU Mission and Aims of a BYU Education.
