Del Mar College invites applications for an Adjunct – Special Topics/Communications Pool to teach as-needed in a variety of times and locations, including online courses and dual‑credit classes.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or a related field and three years of job‑related experience; preferred qualifications include five years of experience, teaching, and 18 hours of post‑graduate English coursework.
This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. SPECIAL TOPICS / COMMUNICATIONS – ADJUNCT :
Assist students in becoming familiar with the rules of employment applications, the completion of resumes, cover letters, writing samples, and the interview process. Additionally, review writing and grammar as applied to the above.
The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or related field.
Three (3) years of job-related experience.
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the field.
Five (5) years of job-related experience.
Experience in teaching.
Completion of 18 hours in post-graduate English courses.
Familiarity with hiring processes and computer-assisted learning.
Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
