Reports to: Dean of Communications & Humanities

Job Summary

Teach assigned classes and perform activities related to classroom instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach lecture and language lab components of various level Spanish courses.
  • Utilize Rock Valley College’s chosen Learning Management System (LMS) for all grading, assignments, communication and student records.
  • Plan course content and assign appropriate course work.
  • Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
  • Meet classes at assigned times.
  • Provide availability for students interaction before and after class (1 hour weekly minimum, per 3 credit hour)
  • Participate in assessment of student learning.
  • Maintain student records, evaluate student progress, and assign grades.
  • Prepare course/class reports as required.
  • Attend required meetings (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.).
  • Keep informed on the latest research and journal articles.
  • Adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any and policies or laws that govern higher education at Rock Valley College.

Minimum Qualifications
