Del Mar College invites applications for an ADJUNCT - RESPIRATORY THERAPY POOL. This continuous recruitment targets part-time adjuncts to teach in a variety of formats, including online or dual-credit courses, as needed by the Allied Health Department.

Applicants must hold an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy, a current RRT credential, and BLS/ACLS certifications, plus TSRC/AARC memberships or equivalents.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification required.
• Current TSRC and AARC memberships or equivalent memberships allowed.
• Three years clinical work experience required.
• Ability to teach and communicate with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience teaching at college level and online courses preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assign and supervise students in the lab or provide classroom and lab instruction.
• Advise students during clinical hours as needed.
• Grade weekly papers and evaluate students in each class.

Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT - RESPIRATORY THERAPY :

Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.

Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy.

Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ).

Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) certification.

Current Texas Association of Respiratory Care ( TSRC ) and American Association of Respiratory Care ( AARC ) memberships. Current, related professional membership(s) may be substituted in place of TSRC and AARC memberships.

Three (3) years clinical work experience.

Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds.

Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities.

Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.

Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas).

Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and be eligible to work in the United States.
