A Surgical Technology Instructor is responsible for educating, mentoring, and preparing future surgical technologists for successful careers in both classroom and clinical settings. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands‑on clinical experience while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. The instructor develops and implements curriculum that aligns with program objectives and accreditation standards, ensuring students receive comprehensive education in surgical technology. They assess and evaluate students' cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning outcomes to verify competency in safe, sterile, and effective operating room practices. Additionally, the instructor provides guidance, constructive feedback, and professional mentorship to promote student success, reinforce ethical and professional behaviors, and ensure graduates are well prepared to meet the standards and expectations of the surgical technology profession. This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $57 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours.
