Job summary

Position Title: Surgical Technology Adjunct Faculty

Job Description: Plan, prepare, implement, teach, and evaluate classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for the Surgical Technology program. Participate in program development and evaluation as needed. Participate in program-related activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Three years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Hold an AAS degree in Surgical Technology from an education program accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to evaluate students’ competency in surgical technology procedures and instrumentation.

Physical Demands

• Operate standard surgical equipment in laboratory setting.
• Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
• Operate standard office equipment such as phone and computer on a frequent basis.
• Occasional irregular hours that may vary semester to semester.
• Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
• Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
• Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
• Ability to lift 20 to 30 pounds.

Travel Travel is dependent on clinical schedule and clinical site location.

Salary: $825-$950 per equated hour, commensurate with experience.
