Job summary

Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Professional Counseling. This is an in-person, on-campus position at the Monmouth Park Corporate Center, with 3-6 credits taught per semester and continuous posting to expand the adjunct pool.

Screening begins when an open position becomes available; candidates will be notified via email about next steps. The department of Professional Counseling oversees teaching and program development.

Qualifications

  • One of the following: Master’s degree in Counseling and previous graduate teaching experience; Two Master’s degrees, one in Counseling or related field; A Master’s in Counseling or related field and a doctoral degree.
  • Experience in the practice of Mental Health Counseling

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3-6 credits during the semester.
  • Develop and deliver course lectures, discussions and assignments in line with curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Provide time during the week to meet with students outside of class.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student engagement and success.
  • Develop and administer projects and exams to evaluate student outcomes and provide timely grades.
  • Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to support learning and development

Job description

Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Adjunct Professor of Professional Counseling.

Part-time Adjunct Faculty members typically teach 3-6 credits per semester, with class schedules determined based on departmental needs and candidate availability. Courses are taught in person at the Monmouth Park Corporate Center. Adjunct positions remain posted continuously to expand the university’s pool of qualified adjunct faculty. Screening of applications will commence when an open position becomes available.Should a position become available, you will receive an email advising you of the next steps.

This is an in-person, on-campus; non-remote position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must have one of the following:
    1. A Master’s degree in Counseling and previous graduate teaching experience

  • Experience in the practice of Mental Health Counseling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in counseling or a closely related field.
