Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor to provide theory and/or practical instruction to help students develop the skills needed for employment in the healthcare field. The adjunct faculty member will supervise students during patient care.

Locations: Savannah & Liberty. Minimum qualifications include a current Georgia RN license, an associate degree in nursing, and at least three years of RN experience within seven years.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license in good standing.
• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years RN experience within the preceding seven years.
• Flexibility to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for nursing courses.
• Instruct students, develop syllabi, goals and objectives; deliver instruction solo or in a team.
• Develop and coordinate curriculum; assess all courses in the department.
• Complete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments.
• Ensure compliance with Georgia Board of Nursing standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areas.
• Stay updated on trends by attending training and conferences.
• Communicate professionally with employees, students, partners and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
