Indian River State College is seeking adjunct faculty members to prepare, instruct, and grade course materials. The instructor will maintain office hours for student meetings and participate in faculty meetings. A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline is required, while a Doctorate is preferred.
The position offers a credit rate of $690.00 - $775.00 and is open until filled. All applicants must demonstrate effective communication and teaching abilities, as well as computer literacy.
Prepare, instruct, and grade all class coursework. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students. Assign final grades and deliver grade justifications. Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment. Participate in department, division, and general adjunct faculty meetings. Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods, present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary is required. All employees must follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
