Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking an instructional adjunct to teach virtual undergraduate courses in the Intelligence & National Security Studies program for the Spring 2027 semester. This is a term appointment, not tenure-track, with renewal based on needs, funding, and performance.

The successful candidate should hold an MA or BA with 5 years of relevant experience; a PhD is preferred. The role may involve telework, but full remote work is not guaranteed and is subject to state employment

Qualifications

• MA in discipline or BA in discipline with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in the Intelligence & National security sector.
• PhD in Political Science (preferred).
• Evidence of prior college-level teaching experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses online, develop materials and syllabi, create lectures and assignments, and grade student work.
• Advise students and hold office hours; collaborate with colleagues and follow policies.
• Attend required instructor training and adhere to departmental, school/college, and university procedures.
