Job summary

South University in Orlando is seeking a campus-based nursing faculty member to instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of course outcomes, support the learning environment, and encourage student success.

The role requires a DNP or PhD in Nursing, 1–5 years of teaching experience in higher education, and strong verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, time management, and computer-based skills.

Qualifications

• DNP or PhD in Nursing.
• 1–5 years’ experience in instruction or formalized education, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
• Experience as a FNP is strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
• Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
• Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and reportwriting skills).

Responsibilities

• Provides competency-based education aligned with the South University model.
• Designs and delivers class instruction with instructional plans to meet course objectives.
• Assists in achieving exit competencies and evaluates student performance.
• Delivers learning-centered instruction and plans for classes and student success.
• Promotes student success with flexible style and schedule, and engages students in the learning process.
• Maintains accurate records, submits grades and reports on time, and enforces policies.
• Participates in curriculum and campus events and committees.
• Relates professional experience to learning and stays aware of industry trends.
