Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for the Music department to teach courses in a variety of times and locations to meet institutional need.

The AA in Music prepares students for a Bachelor of Music in music theory, composition, education; the program challenges, empowers and inspires diverse student needs as they strive to become performers, educators and leaders in the music community.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
  • Ability to teach courses in music and related disciplines.
  • Experience with varied teaching modalities including online/in-person.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in various times and locations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
  • Contribute to program development aligning with the AA in Music goals.

Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT – MUSIC :
The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. The Associate of Arts in Music prepares students to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in music, music theory and composition as well as music education. The curriculum at Del Mar College seeks to challenge, empower and inspire students while meeting their diverse needs as they strive to become performers, composers, educators as well as integral members and leaders of the music industry and community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful college teaching experience experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
