Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking adjunct instructors for Instrumentation to join a pool for part-time/adjunct assignments across various locations. The successful candidate will teach Instrumentation topics, safety systems, automation programming, and calibration in response to institutional need.

Minimum qualifications include an AAS in Instrumentation and 5 years of related work experience, or 8+ years in Instrumentation/Automation. Teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires AAS in Instrumentation with 5 years of Instrumentation/Automation experience or related field
  • Eight (8) or more years of Instrumentation/Automation experience can qualify
  • Preferred: teaching experience
  • Preferred: 10+ years in Industrial Instrumentation Technology

Responsibilities

  • Ensure syllabi, course outlines and class instruction meet state and industry standards.
  • Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus guiding content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
  • Teach courses online or in various locations as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and abilities in the teaching discipline.
  • Develop and use diverse teaching methods to assist students with different backgrounds.
  • Review, evaluate, and use student learning materials effectively.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress toward course outcomes.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Hold scheduled office hours and be available for conferences to support student improvement.

Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT – INSTRUMENTATION :
The successful applicant will be expected to provide quality instruction in all phases of Instrumentation Technology and related areas including but not limited to safety instrumented systems, automation programming and development, repair, inspection and calibration of Industrial instrumentation equipment and technologies.
The Adjunct Instructor teaches courses that could include online courses and or dual-credit/early college classes in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science in Instrumentation degree and five (5) years of documented work experience in Instrumentation/Automation or a related field.
-OR-
Eight (8) or more years of documented work experience in Instrumentation/Automation or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in teaching.
Ten (10) or more years experience in Industrial Instrumentation Technology.
