Responsibilities

• Assess and maintain records of student performance and attendance.
• Distribute and adhere to current course outlines.
• Attend required training and department meetings.
• Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty and administrators.
• Provide timely feedback for assignments and return graded work promptly.
• Maintain attendance records for Financial Aid purposes and grades.
• Conduct evaluations of student performance and communicate progress to students.

Job description

The adjunct faculty member will work with full-time faculty, under general supervision of the Associate Dean, in program and class-related duties such as classroom (including online) instruction, content design and delivery, and student evaluation.

In accordance with SLCC policy, adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.

Official transcripts are required for those who are offered employment within 30 days of hire.

1. Effectively prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning.
2. Assess and maintain records of student performance and attendance.
3. Distribute, and adhere to current course outlines.
4. Demonstrate a depth of understanding in the field of Motorcycle Rider Education.
5. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
6. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to division, school and college mission and values.
7. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues and administration.
8. Support college policies.
9. Become familiar with, and abdide by all college policies with immediate prioritygiven to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators and departments throughout the organization.
10. Maintain professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
11. Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments.
12. Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards.
13. Maintains student attendance records ( for Financial Aid purposes) and grades.
14. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance. Informsstudents of progress to date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines.
15. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment.
16. Follows and abides by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy.
17. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days).
18. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or Collegeprocedure.
19. Completes all required employee trainings.
20. Knows and enforces FERPAguidelines.
21. Administer ADA accommodations as needed.
