Job summary

Helms College is seeking a dedicated Basic Medical Assisting Adjunct Faculty member to deliver high-quality instruction for students pursuing healthcare careers. Classes run 8:30am–3:00pm (Day) and 5:30pm–10:30pm (Evening) two to three nights weekly, with a focus on industry certification, job readiness, and ethical service.

The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise and real-world experience, maintains professional standards, and supports student success through feedback and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with a certificate, diploma, or degree.
• Certified or registered CMA, RMA, LPN, RN, or CCMA, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Availability to work Morning (8:30–3:00) and/or evenings (5:00–10:30) two to three nights per week.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction in accordance with the MSMA curriculum.
• Maintain classroom and clinical lab environments that promote hands-on learning.
• Provide regular feedback, guidance, and support to students.
• Participate in campus events such as open houses and graduations.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, accreditation, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student retention and completion.
