Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks an experienced instructor to deliver Electronics Engineering Technology courses and non-degree programs in industrial automation, mechatronics, robotics, and advanced manufacturing, on-site at Wake Tech campuses and industry sites.

The successful candidate will design curricula, deliver hands-on labs, maintain records, mentor students, and collaborate with facilities to ensure equipment meets program needs and stays current with industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Two years of industry, post-secondary teaching, or technical training experience.
• Knowledge of automation, mechatronics, and advanced manufacturing concepts.
• SACA Gold/Silver certifications or plan to earn by the date in the offer letter.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
• Prepares thoroughly for instructional hours
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
• Maintains current knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and technologies relevant to industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
• Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
• Constructs classroom materials that support course goals
• Collaborates with Facilities and other departments to support program equipment and operational requirements
• Manages student records, attendance, and instructional materials to align with course objectives
• Supports integration of certifications as part of credit for prior learning
• Participates in faculty training initiatives to promote interdisciplinary skills and growth
