Adjunct Faculty will teach classes in the Department of Mathematics on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will be a skillful and enthusiastic educator who is committed to interactive, student-centered teaching of undergraduate mathematics. Individuals teaching College Algebra will need to be available on four Thursdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm (the University hour) each semester. Individuals teaching lower-level mathematics courses will need to be available on the Saturday immediately following the last day of class for the common final exam. Excellent oral and written communication skills are an essential requirement for this position.
The title Lecturer will ordinarily be used to designate appointments of persons who are serving in a teaching capacity for a limited time or part-time. The normal requirement is a Master's degree in the field of instruction or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the field of instruction. Appointments to this rank are typically one to three years and are renewable.
