Job summary

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics (College Prep only).
• Master’s in Mathematics or related field with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
• Teaching experience preferred
• Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
• Understanding of a commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate mathematics courses as assigned (such as developmental mathematics, college algebra, pre-calculus, or general education mathematics).
• Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and instructional materials.
• Develop and administer quizzes, exams, assignments, and other assessments.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.

Education and Experience:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics (College Prep only).
• Master’s in Mathematics or related field with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

• Master’s in Mathematics or related field with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
• Experience teaching developmental mathematics, college algebra, or pre-calculus.
• Familiarity with online or hybrid instruction.
• Experience using Canvas or similar learning management systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while teaching classes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff in person and through electronic communication.
• Ability to use a computer, keyboard, projector, and other instructional technology for prolonged periods.
• Ability to move throughout classrooms, offices, and campus facilities.
• Ability to lift and carry instructional materials, books, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and audiovisual equipment.
• Visual acuity sufficient to read printed materials, computer screens, and classroom presentations.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
