Adjunct Lecturer - Sport and Exercise Science

Department: Biological Sciences

Classification: Part‑time, Non‑benefit eligible

Location: Mesa, AZ

Rate: $1400 per contact hour (with a terminal degree) and $1200 per contact hour (without a terminal degree). This compensation is per contact hour and is subject to change based on class size.

Brief Overview of Duties

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks engaging and enthusiastic instructors to help fill our adjunct pool and assist in delivering courses in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 terms. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the Coaching minor, such as sport psychology, motor learning, principles of coaching, sport management, and local management of student field experiences.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Master’s degree in sport science or a closely related discipline is required; a Ph.D. in a life science is preferred.
  • Applicants must be able to teach on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must use a computer screen, phone, and perform customer service duties, may require bending or sitting for long periods of time, and must meet specific vision requirements. The following of campus‑specific guidelines for pandemic protocols is required.

Training

As a University employee, you are required to complete all University‑specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
