Job summary

Tulane University is seeking qualified candidates to join its adjunct lecturer pool in the Information Technology Programs department of SoPA. The openings vary by semester and may involve teaching undergraduate and graduate IT courses at the Uptown Campus in New Orleans or online.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in IT/CS and strong communication and organizational skills. Prior university teaching and Canvas LMS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar is required or preferred.
• Direct professional experience related to course offering is preferred.
• Industry experience in technology position is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills are required.
• University-level teaching experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Canvas LMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate Information Technology courses.
• Courses may vary by semester and may be taught at the Uptown Campus in New Orleans or online.
• Prepare and deliver course materials and assessments.
• Engage with students to support learning outcomes.

Job Description

The Information Technology Programs department at the School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) seeks qualified individuals for its part-time adjunct lecturer pool and welcomes applicants at any time. The specific courses involved will vary from semester to semester; openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs. SoPA courses may be taught at the Uptown Campus in New Orleans or online.

Responsibilities

The anticipated need is for adjunct lecturers to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Technology that may include but are not limited to courses on our website at:

• B.S. in Information Technology (see “Major Requirements”)

Qualifications

• Direct professional experience related to course offering is preferred
• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar is required. Doctorate/terminal degree is preferred.
• Industry experience in technology position is preferred.
• Consistent access to broadband internet services
• Consistent access to/use of a computer/laptop to use for University business capable of running modern browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari) with modern camera and microphone
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
• Excellent organizational and planning skills are required
• University-level teaching experience is preferred
• Familiarity with Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred
